Clean Restore Victorian Tile Perth, Scotland

BLOG

A new tile  threshold was instated on this lovely Victorian Tile floor in Perth, Scotland.

The screed was repaired and new tiles colour matched to the original.

The floor was then clean, re-grouted and a sympathetic finish sealant was applied to nourish the tiles leaving it refreshed and rejuvenated.

While we often have geometric tiles, colour matched and re-made to match the original, we also at our studio hold a vast number of original Victorian tiles that we have sourced over the years.

It means that we can often match damaged and missing Victorian tiles to the original from our library of tiles we hold. Meaning that the client does not need to go to the expense and time involved in replicating the Victorian tiles as we can offer  quick match to the original.

This project was a good example of being able to remove damage and match the original Victorian tiles with tiles we hold in stock.

It meant that the turnaround time of the Victorian tile restoration project was far quicker than it would have been otherwise.

Also, historic floor tile projects often have hidden surprises as the full extent of damage to a floor does not become apparent until a project starts. No one likes cost increases to a project and ‘Victorian Restoration Edinburgh’ prides itself on never altering project costs as a project progresses.

This Victorian Tile project in Perth Scotland nicely  illustrates the use of tiles we hold in stock being matched and re-laid to the original design intent of Victorian tiles being used for an amazing kaleidoscope effect.
