Replacing of missing and damaged Victorian floor tiles and mosaic tessera
Historic tile floors often have damaged or missing tiles. This can affect a tile scheme visually as well as compromise the structural integrity leading to areas of loose tiles.
We are expert in the matching of colours and size of original Victorian tiles and tesserae, removing the defective tiles and replacing like for like.
We hold in our studio over 120 different colour tiles to match the original, which we can then cut to size.
If we can’t match with our extensive stock we have in-depth contacts within the ceramic production industry to enable us to offer specialised re-production of geometric tiles.
Alongside the reproduction of Victorian geometric tiles we can either source original decorative encaustic tiles or have them manufactured.
We are highly skilled in the cutting out and removal of defective Victorian tiles from floors and can minimise the dust as much as is possible by using industry leading dust extraction equipment.
