Conservation, care and repair of historic marble floor

Team Eden have been busy conserving a lovely floor by lifting and re-laying the marble Italian-esq inlaid floor to the sacristy of Old St Paul’s Church in Edinburgh UK.

The floor needed lifting, the screed relaying and repairing and the floor re-laid. Repairs were made to the marble and bespoke grout was made with earth pigments and lime to match the surrounding host material.

A final coat of micro crystalline wax was applied to the area to nourish the marble and the amazing colours were also enhanced as a result.
